Nick Tims
Industry Adviser
Nick is an Industry Adviser to Time Partners. He has focused on both public and private markets, equities, credit and real estate. He began his career at Cazenove, from where he moved to Merrill Lynch and became Managing Director of Equity Sales in London. Nick went on to join Investec Asset Management (now 91) as Managing Director, Private Markets, where he focused on African private equity, private debt, infrastructure credit and real estate, before setting up and managing BlackFin Advisors, the Africa and LatAm-focused corporate advisory firm. He is now a Managing Partner at Posaidon Capital, the nature-based finance/natural capital firm developing investment opportunities at scale in these nascent asset classes.
Nick has also been highly involved in conservation, and especially in Africa, both terrestrial and marine. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, he is a long-standing trustee and Board member of Tusk Trust and strategy advisor to one of the largest conservancies in Niassa, Mozambique. He has previously served as a Board member of Save the Rhino and of various conservation NGOs in northern Kenya.
He has a BA and MA (Hons) from Cambridge University.
