William provides support on global fund selection across all strategies. He has over 30 years of private markets investment management, fund due diligence and selection experience, working mainly within private equity. William was Head of Private Equity at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP); and in this role he oversaw in excess of EUR 2bn of commitments to over 100 European private equity funds. Following the acquisition of SWIP by Aberdeen Asset Management, William became Head of Primary Funds Europe, a role that he retained until his decision to leave Aberdeen Asset Management following the merger with Standard Life. William also has experience in UK lower mid-market direct private equity investing with Murray Johnstone.
William trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and has a degree in Accountancy and Economics from the University of Strathclyde.
